DeSantis laughed off Trump’s chaotic leadership and his addiction to social networking and joked off the nickname the former president seems to have settled on, despite not knowing what “sanctimonious”. DeSantis spoke of “Ron DeSanctimonious” as he liked it. “You can call my anything you like, as long as I’m also called a winner, because that is what we’ve been capable of doing in Florida, which is putting a lot on the board and taking this state to the next level.”
These “wins” have largely been attacks on truth, decency, and the most marginalized in Trump’s state. They have raised his national profile, and made him possibly Trump’s closest competitor for the GOP nomination. DeSantis has not officially entered the race, which Trump comfortably leads despite having lost his party in three straight election. The governor seemed to have made his pitch during Thursday’s interview.I’m Trump without all the posting.Morgan was told by DeSantis that it wasn’t important for him to fight with people on social networks. “It’s not doing anything for the people that I represent.”

These barbs may be a hit with some Republicans, who like Trump’s hard right policies but don’t love him personally. It’s difficult to predict how they’ll be received by the Republican base. They remain loyal to Trump and may be inclined agree with him that DeSantis’s lusterless weirdo is a great choice. This perception was not disputed by Morgan in his sit-down with DeSantis.
However, Trump’s other challengers could be inspired by the DeSantis offensive to take a more assertive approach.PoliticoWednesday was suggested.
